The short answer: Patrick, a roofer in Wolverhampton and the Black Country, went live with his own Facebook ads on 28 October 2025. Six days later his team was on the first job from the leads. By 14 November he had 7 jobs booked, over £15k of work. We didn’t review his enquiries for this period, so there’s no lead count here, only what he told us.
Who is Patrick and where does he work?
Patrick is a roofer. He and his team work across Wolverhampton and the Black Country, in the West Midlands.
This page covers the first 17 days after his campaign went live, from 28 October to 14 November 2025. Everything in it comes from the WhatsApp messages he sent us at the time. Those messages don’t say what each job was, so we won’t guess.
What did we set up?
Patrick had the same setup every Lead Wave roofer gets:
- Facebook ads made for roofing and for his area, shown only to people in his patch.
- A form where people tell him the job and their postcode before they hit send.
- Every enquiry on his phone in the lead app, with the name, number and job all there.
- An instant text to every lead within seconds, even when he’s up a ladder.
- Follow-ups that keep going until people reply, then stop on their own.
- His area kept his. We don’t take on another roofer there.
At 17:56 on 28 October we messaged him to say everything was up and running and he should start to see leads within 24 hours. We don’t publish the wording of our roofing ads. There’s more on how the ads, the form and the text fit together in Facebook ads for roofers.
What happened, week by week?
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| Tue 28 Oct 2025 | Campaign live. We told him to expect leads within 24 hours. |
| Mon 3 Nov | His team was working on the first job from the leads, about £3k of work, done in a couple of hours. Later that day he booked another job for the next day. |
| Tue 4 Nov | 3 jobs booked and 4 more people to see the next day. |
| Thu 13 Nov | A couple more jobs done. He’d done 2 that day and had 2 new leads in 10 minutes. |
| Fri 14 Nov | 7 jobs booked, over £15k of work. |
Once the first job came, it moved fast. The next day he had three booked, and by day 17 he’d counted seven.
What did the numbers look like?
Two numbers matter here, and both are Patrick’s own. He had 7 jobs booked and over £15k of work, which he sent us on 14 November, 17 days after going live. The first of those jobs, about £3k, came 6 days in.
What we can’t give you is a lead count. When we count leads on a case study, we only count people who replied in the lead app, by message or by answering a call, not everyone who filled in the form. We didn’t review Patrick’s lead app for this period, so we don’t know how many people enquired or how many replied.
Two more things to be straight about. “Booked” means booked in on 14 November, not all finished and paid by that date. And we didn’t count his jobs after that day, so 7 is where this page stops, not where his work stopped.
For a sense of how much rides on the reply: we’ve read 671 roofing lead conversations across 12 reviews. In the three roofing reviews that counted it exactly, 43 of 125 real enquiries never replied to anything. More on that in are Facebook leads any good.

What made the difference?
I can’t point to one thing in his lead app, because we didn’t read it for this period. What his messages do show is how quickly he acted on the leads. On 4 November he had three jobs booked and four people to see the next day. He was out seeing people and booking work within a week of going live. The ads can’t do that part for you.
On 13 November he put it down to the ads reaching the right people. That’s the point of ads made for roofing and shown only to people in one roofer’s patch. And because we don’t take on another roofer there, every enquiry goes to him alone.
His first 17 days were a strong start. It doesn’t go like this every month for every roofer. Leads can slow down and ads get tired. When that happens I go through the leads, work out why and change the ads.
What does this mean for a roofer in your area?
If you’re a roofer, the setup Patrick had is the one you’d get: your own ads in your own area, a form that asks the job and postcode, an instant text to every enquiry and follow-ups that chase. We’re usually live within the hour, and the first enquiries usually come in within 24 hours. What happens after that is down to how fast you ring back, go and look, and get the quote out.
We only take on one roofer per area, so the first job is checking yours is free. To see what each won job would really cost you, put your own numbers into the cost per job calculator. How it works for roofers is on the roofers page.
